Lent can be serious, Lent can be sad
Sometimes in Lent we feel guilty and bad,
What if our Lent helps to push back the night,
What if our Lent helps to add to the Light?
This year we are exploring levity in lent by acknowledging that in our human condition sometimes we don’t know whether to laugh or cry.
We are following the stories of Peter as the disciple whose responses and reactions to Jesus can help us to lighten up about ourselves in a meaningful way.

U.C.W. MEETINGS:
Madawaska: Tuesday, February 20th at noon at Theresa’s
World Day of Prayer service in Maynooth is being hosted by Christ Lutheran (9 Lutheran Church Rd. off Hwy # 62 near Maple Leaf) in 2018. The service is on Friday, March 2nd at 2pm.
All welcome as we worship with our faith family from around the world
IRIDESCE: The Living Apology Project is an invitation for story-sharing to all people affected by the United Church’s 1988 decision—when the church declared that all people, regardless of sexual orientation, are welcome as full members, and all members are eligible to be considered for ministry.
IRIDESCE invites stories from before, during, and after the 1988 decision. How welcoming has our welcome been? These stories will help the church to discern if, and how, it might live into a possible apology to the church’s LGBTQ and Two-Spirit people.
The whole church is invited to participate! That means folks associated with the United Church in any way, no matter how they identify—as straight, lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, Two-Spirit, and more

Gracious God, you have come to be with us, and you have invited us to participate in a journey of faith. Accept our gratitude for your presence. Guide us in our journey.
Grant us the wisdom to travel our life-course in a way that leads us closer to you. Help us to stay on our feet when the terrain of faithfulness is ruffed. May we feel your presence with us today as we continue our journey as people of God.
